Karolyn Evans

Karolyn Evans was born in Illinois and went to school in Minnesota (Bethany Lutheran College), Arizona (Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University) and Colorado (Denver University). She received her Aerospace Engineering Degree (BS) in December of 2001 and started working at Lockheed Martin in Marietta, Georgia the following spring. She worked in the Structural Loads and Criteria organization on the next generation stealth fighter. In the winter of 2003, she moved with her husband to Denver, Colorado and worked on various proposal projects for Earth orbiting communication satellites, missions to mars (MAVEN, InSight, Mars 2020), Jupiter (JUNO), moon (GRAIL), sun (Parker Probe Pulse), and beyond. She was also given the opportunity to once again to work on another international stealth fighter. Karolyn attended Denver University and received a degree in Mechatronics/System Engineering (MS) in August 2010. Karolyn also had the opportunity to work on the new shuttle cargo vehicle (Dream Chaser) with Sierra Space. Karolyn is currently working on Earth research satellites like James Webb and Roman Space Telescopes. She is also part of the team developing Earth Climate space research (MethaneSat, GeoXO). Outside of work she enjoys engaging in outreach programs at local-area K-12 with AIAA. In her free time, she enjoys the company of her husband, their dog (Aussie Cattle dog Pluto),golf, and her martial arts.
