Dr. Harold A. Geller is retired Observatory Director and Associate Professor from the Department of Physics and Astronomy at George Mason University. He was co-Investigator for the Virginia Initiative for Science Teaching and Achievement. He won the 2008 GMU Faculty Member of the Year Award and the 2020 Jack Wood Town Gown Legacy Award. Past positions include Associate Chair; President of the Potomac Geophysical Society; tour guide for NASA Goddard Space Flight Center; educational producer; faculty at Northern Virginia Community College; doctoral fellow of the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia; and, lecturer/operator at the Einstein Planetarium in the National Air and Space Museum. He has authored and edited books as well as publishing more than 100 papers in science and education. He has been interviewed or quoted in several local media outlets.
