James Hill
James Hill recently retired as Director of the Rainwater Observatory & Planetarium in French Camp, Mississippi. He has been "doing" astronomy since he built his first telescope in 1953. Jim is married, has 4 grown children, and is now working on grandchildren. He plays violin and viola and builds harpsichords and restores pipe organs for a hobby. Jim taught at the 2001 Mississippi Governor's School. He is the recipient of the 2001 Thomas Brennan Award from the Astronomical Society of the Pacific for Astronomy Education. He was selected a Mississippi STAR teacher five times. He is a Master Volunteer Astronomer for the National Park Service. SOLAR SYSTEM AMBASSADOR MASTER TEACHER
