Dana Kasian has been in the field of Special Education for 20 years and specializes in behavior intervention and crisis management. She completed her M.Ed. and started her doctoral work at the University of Florida while working on a research team for UF's Center for Excellence in Early Childhood Studies and is continuing her academic work at Northeastern University. While teaching in Florida, she worked in an engineering lab overlooking Kennedy Space Center's rocket garden and built a GPS device by hand which was successfully launched in a weather balloon from the KSC site. She still sees as one of her most exciting accomplishments! She took part in the Seeds in Space program and planted seeds harvested from the space station with her class for their science fair project. She has taken part in animal rescue and rehabilitation for over 20 years and advocates for the adoption of senior and special needs animals. She has had a love of space science since an early age and now looks forward to sharing her passion for space science with the local community!
