Terence Blanch has been lost in space since he first viewed the moon through from the sidewalk in front of his house. Since then he has wandered around looking up at the sky. He is fascinated by things in the sky and has followed this fascination through aviation and astronomy. Born in the year of Sputnik and raised on the Apollo missions, he has followed his curiosity to a career in teaching and hobbies about telescopes and airplanes.|He attended Wake Forest University on an athletic scholarship and earned a bachelor of science in 1981. After working in sales and mechanics, He returned to school and completed a Masters of Education program at Wilmington University. He has taught high school science for four years and teaches astronomy at Wilmington University.|NASA has been a big part of his education and training providing both tuition grants and training opportunities via the Delaware Space Grant Consortium and the Texas Space Grant Foundation. This summer he spent a week at the Johnson Space Center as part of the Summer Liftoff program for teachers. Monthly he helps at the DASEF with their "eyes on the skies" program. He is one of the Pencader Charter High School Science Olympiad coaches, mentors the ecology club, and robotics club. This year NASA has provided a Summer of Innovation mini grant to create a senior project which will bring "technology fun days" to middle and elementary students.
