Darrell Heath has maintained an interest in the natural world ever since he was a child and, as a grown up, he now works in the Biology Department for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. At the university he is also the writer, co-producer, and host of a monthly astronomy series for UALR Television. Darrell has written a weekly newspaper astronomy column and has served as a past president of both The Central Arkansas Astronomical Society and The Arkansas Herpetological Society. He is currently the leader of The International Dark-Sky Association's Arkansas Chapter. Whenever he's not doing these things he likes to chase snakes and lizards, lay down in the grass and look up at the stars, dig for fossils, and read good science fiction or mystery novels.
