David Abbou has been an amateur astronomer and NASA fan since 1972. He conveys his love of astronomy and the space program through providing outreach to schools and community groups.

From 2007 until 2022, he authored a monthly astronomy column for a mid-size regional newspaper serving the Fredericksburg, Virginia, area.  He also authored two stories which were published in a national astronomy magazine during the 1980s and had his astronomy photos used on the magazine's website in 2026. His astronomy photos have also been featured on the four main Washington, DC, television news stations numerous times over the years.

After living in the Washington, DC, area most of his life, he now resides in Oro Valley, AZ, and enjoys the clear skies and the numerous astronomy resources available in Southern Arizona.
