David Abbou has been an amateur astronomer and NASA fan since 1972, the year he watched Apollo 17 astronauts walk on the Moon. He conveys his passion for astronomy and the NASA space program by providing outreach for schools and community groups in the Stafford, Virginia, area. In addition, from 2007 until 2022, he authored a monthly astronomy column for a mid-size regional newspaper serving the Fredericksburg, Virginia, area.  He also authored two stories which were published in a national astronomy magazine during the 1980s and had his astronomy photos featured on the four Washington, DC, television news stations in previous years.
