Steven Harness
Steven Harness graduated with a degree in Geology from Bradley University, Peoria, Illinois in 1972. He was in retail business until 1986 when he left to become a teacher at Kingsburg High School . Steve received his Masters degree in Math Science Education from Fresno Pacific University. He is married with three girls, two of whom love astronomy while the third, a photography major, likes the astronomy images.|In addition to an interest in astronomy, Steven has received training in Oceanography through Monterey Bay Aquarium, become an AIMS trainer (Activities Integrating math and Science) through Fresno Pacific University, served as a GLOBE Trainer (Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment), and pursued Astronomy through membership in the Central Valley astronomers.|He has trained for astronomy research at Kitt Peak through TLRBSE, participated in Astronomy curriculum development through TERC and operates the Kingsburg Observatory on a volunteer basis. David is a Mentor teacher to new teachers and an AVID Coordinator (Avid is a program to help prepare students for a four-year university). He received training in using a seismograph and has a working Seismograph in my classroom.
