Ward Yohe
Ward Yohe enjoys sharing the NASA vision with others; loves hiking, camping, backpacking, biking, snowshoeing, and kayaking with his wife Sharon and other friends; and considers Washington's Salish Sea region to be one of the most fantastic spots on Planet Earth. He grew up in Big Run, Pennsylvania and graduated from high school in nearby Punxsutawney in 1989. Ward then attended US Naval Nuclear Electronics, Power, and Prototype Schools and served as a nuclear reactor operator on the USS Truxtun (CGN 35), home ported in Bremerton, WA from 1991-95. Ward now works in Operations & Maintenance for the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle and commutes to work via ferry from Bremerton, his home of 30+ years. His NASA Solar System exploration summary outreach focus is to groups of any size and age range, primarily on the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsulas.
