Thomas Sarko
Tom Sarko recently retired after a 44 year career as a science teacher and aerospace educator. His experience includes 2 years in public schools, 2 years in parochial schools, 2 years as an Aerospace Education Specialist in NASA's Aerospace Education Services Program ("Spacemobile"), and 38 years at Palm Beach Day Academy, Palm Beach, Florida, where he served as Science Department Chair teaching junior high science, including astronomy and aerospace curriculum. He also served, for ten years, as a Regional Resource Person for the Smithsonian Institution’s National Air and Space Museum and as a resource agent in "SPICA" (the Support Program for Instructional Competency in Astronomy) for the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. Tom has spent one month each of several summers as an Astronomy VIP (volunteer in park) at Bryce Canyon and Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Parks. In 2009, he received the Astronomical League's "Master Level” Certificate for Astronomy Outreach.
