Melba Martin
Dr. Melba Martin, Ed. D. is a retired educator from the state of Louisiana and Arizona. While teaching middle school science in Eldon, Missouri, she became interested in astronomy and .studied at Penn State University during the summers. In 2004, she moved to Chinle, Arizona to teach high school special education science at Chinle High School. In 2008, she was promoted to Director of Exceptional Student Services. She later helped establish the Pre-K programs at Chinle Unified School District. Dr. Martin retired in 2017 from the state of Arizona and presently makes her home in Olla, Louisiana and TIerra Amarilla, New Mexico. Within her spare time, she is an amateur archaeo-astronomer and delves into the subjects of global warming and climate change as well as the related sciences. She presently owns a farm and a business in Louisiana and keeps herself involved in the educational system of New Mexico and Louisiana by working with individual schools and teachers in the area. Dr. Martin has a B. S. in Geography, a M. Ed. in Special Education, a Ed. S. in Supervision and Administration and an Ed. D. in Educational Leadership (Superintendent's Option). She is a retired officer from the U.S. Navy after 27 years. Presently, Dr. Martin is becoming involved with the state of Louisiana's small business development center. Her interest is spreading to New Mexico.
