Kent Manno
Kent Manno was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in the early 1960's and indoctrinated into the human desire for space exploration at an early age. The Apollo Program became an educational experience and a sense of pride for everyone in that area. Eventually, Kent ventured north to New Jersey for prep school in Princeton and then went on to Washington & Jefferson College majoring in Economics/History/Education. About a year after graduation (1982), he was offered a position at Delbarton School in Morristown, where he has been ever since. While at Delbarton, Kent taught A.P. Economics, European History, and Humanities. Over the years, he served as History Department Chair and member of the Academic and Administrative councils. Before assuming his administrative roles, he coached soccer, swimming, and lacrosse. In addition, he is the Director of Library Services and school archivist. Between 2003-2005 Kent was the coordinator for Delbarton's participation in NASA's Telescopes in Education Program. Along with a class of students, he served as the principle investigator Research Project (Sept. 2003-May 2004) Astrometry of Minor Planets Using CCD Imaging from the Telescopes in Education 24 Telescope at Mt. Wilson. Along with being an avid reader of the sciences, local college courses and astronomy programs have helped Kent gain valuable knowledge in the field.
