Ian Hewitt teaches Astronomy and Computer Science at Coastal Carolina University in Myrtle Beach, SC. He also is an Adjunct Researcher at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences Astronomy and Astrophysics Laboratory. He previously was a System Architect for a company that designed and manufactured embedded computing systems before changing careers to astronomy and astrophysics research. He has written numerous journal articles, as well as speaking to wide variety of groups. An avid amateur astronomer and astrophotographer, he also has a strong interest in History and the classics.
