Carol Lutsinger retired from 40 years of teaching in Brownsville, Texas. As an experienced teacher who thrived on sharing space events and astronomy information she has continued writing her popular newspaper column, Stargazer,for the local newspaper, The Brownsville Herald since 1998 and for the past 5 years also writes for online edition and the paper edition of a local newspaper in the neighboring city of Harlingen. As a parent of three adult children, who have a total of five children, summertime and her two-week vacation is spent visiting with them since they are scattered across Texas. Although officially retired from the district, she is planning big things with the school district television programming in the near future. She is also supporting science in general and space/astronomy in particular via the local libraries, the Children's Museum of Brownsville, and the South Texas Astronomical Society with public events as soon as possible and online events in the meantime.
