Misty Morris is a dedicated professional with a diverse background in education, community program development, and volunteer management. Originally from Montana, she earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Oregon in 2003, where she studied computer science, cultural anthropology, and political sociology. Over the years, she has accumulated numerous certifications, including being a Certified Interpretive Trainer and Guide, Master Naturalist in several specializations (including Dark Sky Observations), and a Master Gardener. Her expertise spans informal science education, volunteer coordination, and event management. Misty currently calls Salt Lake City, Utah home and serves as the Community Programs and Volunteer Coordinator at Clark Planetarium, where she develops and implements community education programs that support the planetarium's mission. These programs include Fun Science Fridays (a weekly, in-building science demonstration), Sensory Friendly Saturday (a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for visitors with sensory needs), the annual Women and Girls in Science event, and AstroTots (a pre-k science program). In this role, she fosters partnerships with various community organizations, creating unique learning opportunities for the public. She looks forward to sharing her love of all things STEAM as she helps inspire the next generation of space explorers.
