Currently, the Senior Director for Rural Engagement with the Arizona Science Center, Kal Mannis has a multi-layered career in both Formal (High School Sciences, District Technology Director, STEM Professional Development, Instructional Coach), and Informal (programs for museums, libraries, nature centers, town/state/federal parks) education. He has also served as the Rural Education Ambassador for Society for Science, and an advisor on numerous research projects. Kal's current projects are funded mostly with research grants from NASA, NOAA, and NSF. When not working, Kal is traveling, reading, or exploring the mountains and forests throughout the country. And looking up at night to the wonders and potential embedded in the night sky.
