Kaitlyn Burkey
Kaitlyn Burkey was born in Monroe, Michigan where she has lived her whole life. As a child, she loved being outdoors as much as she could. She loved going for walks in the woods and fields behind her house and visiting the creek in the woods to explore. Not only did she love the outdoors, she also had a passion for science and learning all about wildlife all over the world. This passion followed her throughout her adolescence. She would eventually end up going to college at Northern Michigan University where she would obtain a Bachelor's of Science in Fisheries and Wildlife Management. Her passion for space began in college as well, especially after her first time seeing the northern lights and a meteor shower with some friends. After she graduated, she began working for the Huron Clinton Metroparks. She currently work at Lake Erie Metropark Marshlands Museum as an interpreter where she does programs of all kinds of topics for the public and school. She truly enjoys her work and remains just as passionate about wildlife and learning all she can about all kinds of science.
