Martin Knoblauch
Martin Knoblauch has been active in science and astronomy since 1962 when he got his first telescope, a 3-inch Newtonian and his Ham Radio license. While pursuing a career as an orchestra, choral, opera conductor and a lawyer, he maintained his interest in both astronomy and electronics. He has also studied Gross Anatomy with courses given by the Pennsylvania Bar Association and was permitted to take the Gross Anatomy Course at Jefferson University Medical School. He also has an interest in Ancient Languages. Now in his 70s he maintains an active association with several orchestras, choruses and opera groups, serves as an organist in several parishes. He conducts observation programs with his 14-inch telescope in his back yard observatory and various other instruments. He has participated in the annual symposium with the Society of Amateur Radio Astronomers at the National Radio Observatory at Green Bank, West Virginia where he received training in operation of the 40-foot and 20 meter dishes. He is in the process of installing a 2-meter radio telescope. He lives in Philadelphia with his wife of 52 years.
