Christopher Rowe
Christopher Rowe is a life-long North Carolinian, having lived in the Greensboro area for over 30 years. He and his wife have raised two outstanding children, with one endeavoring to become a scientist in his own right. Professionally, he has spent 25+ years in networking, both in technical support and as an educator. Since he was a young child, he has been fascinated with astronomy and space. One of his most distinct memories from childhood was his sixth-grade class gathering around the television and watching the maiden launch of the Columbia Space Shuttle in April 1981.
In 2020, a long-time friendship with the director of Cline Observatory, on the campus of Guilford Tech Community College, led him to take an observational astronomy class, and subsequently join the observatory volunteer staff. On Friday nights, he can usually be found at the observatory as a host for public viewings. In addition, he is a member and president of the Greensboro Astronomy Club.
Christopher is enthusiastic about education, particularly to youth. He enjoys sharing his passion with kids and looks forward to inspiring the scientists of the future. His particular interests are in galaxies, cosmology, and relativity, including black holes and gravity.
