Anthony Verdone
Tony Verdone started his career as a high school mathematics teacher. He later transitioned to a successful career in information technology. He worked for a major television network and later as an IT consultant training company employees in software development. Eventually his career migrated to healthcare information technology and was part of the management team that formed a software as a service company, where he served as product specialist and Vice President of Development. Part of his responsibilities were to train healthcare organizations on the company products. Tony retired in 2019 and now dedicates his time to his astronomy passion. Currently, Tony Verdone is a member of the Raleigh Astronomy Club. He is also the founder and leader of the astronomy special interest group where he lives in a senior active community. In 2022, Tony completed training and received the designation of Amateur Astronomer from the Kalamazoo Astronomical Society. Tony participates in outreach events with his telescope and lectures on various astronomy subjects.
