Frank Boecker has loved Astronomy and space exploration ever since he sat in front of a small black and white TV witnessing Neil Armstrong step on the moon. He is in awe every time he looks through an eye piece and sees what’s in the night sky. He has been an active member of the Riverside Astronomical Society for almost 20 years, and he has served on the Board of Directors for the past 15 years.

For decades, the RAS has been at the forefront of the amateur astronomy movement. Through their educational efforts, outreach, and star parties, they have been a leader among astronomy clubs in Southern California.

Frank and his wife love doing public outreach at schools, Scouts, and various public events in Riverside, California. They love hearing kids and adults express their excitement when they look through his scopes. Frank feels very lucky that he has the ability to enjoy the night sky from his own observatory, and he always shares his view of the night sky with friends, family and whomever walks by his telescope.
