Cara Lyons is a Mission Commander and Space Science Educator at the Buehler Challenger & Science Center. She leads students on simulated space missions to the Moon, Mars, and Comet Haley to ignite their love for space! Ever since Cara went on a field trip to the Buehler, she fell in love with space exploration and had a strong desire to inspire other students. One of Cara’s heroes is Christa McAuliffe; she inspired her to pursue teaching and reinforced the idea that space is for everyone. She also volunteers her time with a teen institute to help students make positive changes in themselves and their communities. One of her greatest passions is to empower students to explore careers in science, technology, engineering, and math. She loves to engage students with hands-on activities and give them opportunities to let their creativity lead!
