In 2006, she was awarded NASA's Exceptional Service Medal for her efforts in forging relationships with the museum and planetarium communities. Earlier in her JPL career, she was a writer assigned to the Voyager, Galileo, Cassini, and Spitzer projects, as well as JPL's Flight Programs Office and Office of Space Science Instruments. She also managed the Planetary Science Summer School post-doc program for over a decade, the re-imagining of JPL's Visitor Center and von Karman Auditorium, and was the JPL lead for NASA's Competitive Program for Science Museums, Planetariums, and NASA Visitor Centers, a grant and cooperative agreement opportunity for non-profit informal and formal education providers. She became the first supervisor of JPL's STEM Informal Education Group. She is a Fellow of the International Planetarium Society and volunteers at The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens.
