Adriana Martinez is a painter, writer and teaching artist who grew up both in the US and Mexico. A graduate from The Institute for Art and Restoration, Palazzo Spinelli in Florence Italy and an ASU Gammage Teaching Artist trained in the Kennedy Center Arts Integration method. Adriana specializes in helping children develop appreciation of their own cultural heritage and emotional wellness through art. Adriana Martinez has over 17 years of experience working with children and adults and a cultural guide for both Mexico and Italy.In her teaching work she has taken a variety of subjects including creative aging, sustainability education, refugee funnel programs, trauma informed creativity, cultural sensitivity, portraiture and social emotional awareness.Through the use of painting and drawing, creative movement and breathing, language and arts integrated lessons her students are able to synthesize key ideas, cultivate emotional and social skills, and become better collaborators all while having fun! She currently works with organizations and different school districts to facilitate art workshops for teachers, staff, children and adults for the purpose of art education and well being.
