April Armijo
April is a Diné tribal member from Dennehotso, Arizona and the Pueblo of Acoma in New Mexico and is Tabaaha (Water’s Edge Clan) born for the Koosti (Antelope Clan). April currently lives on the traditional homelands of the Myaamia, Shawanwaki/Shawnee, Kaskaskia, and Osage Nations in Dayton, Ohio but frequently travels home to Arizona and New Mexico. April grew up on the rural reservations of the Navajo Nation and the Pueblo of Acoma, also known as "Sky City" because the village is located atop a 357-foot mesa. While tribal reservations come with many challenges, including little access to electricity and running water, this meant that April grew up with the most pristine views of the night skies. Her early understanding of her place in the world came from laying outside wondering about everything she could and could not see. It is still her favorite pastime today as she continues to share the power of wondering and wandering. April is also a passionate advocate for utilizing STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and entrepreneurship as a catalyst for generational wealth. April holds Associate of Science degrees in computer technology and web mastery, a Bachelor of Science in information and communication technology, and Master of Arts in education with an emphasis in learning technologies from New Mexico State University.
