Solar System Ambassadors
Stephanie Rybka
Stephanie Rybka took an astronomy elective while working on her bachelor's in biology and secondary education at Bradley University. The class was taught in a planetarium. It was an experience that changed the trajectory of her life. Today she is the planetarium director and a high school science teacher at Waubonsie Valley High School in Aurora, Illinois. Stephanie started her career in August 2006, the same month Pluto became a dwarf planet. She quickly became an astronomy resource for her students, teachers in Indian Prairie School District 204, and the community. Each year she shares her passion and enthusiasm for astronomy and the night sky with 10,000 students and visitors she teaches under the dome. Stephanie hopes all planetarium visitors leave inspired to look up at the sky and wonder about the universe.
