Jim Browder is an avid observer and imager of the night sky. As a young person he became interested in amateur astronomy and resurrected his interest in the hobby in the early 1990’s when he moved to an area west of Richmond, Virginia with dark skies. He enjoys observing and imaging any object in the sky that is within range of his telescope using digital and low-light video cameras. Jim also participates in public outreach events where he presents views of the seasonal night sky to visitors at observing sessions in and around Richmond. He has held several offices in the Richmond Astronomical Society and currently serves as the organization’s president.
