Tom Grady
Tom Grady graduated form a small liberal arts college with a degree in Geology and has always had a love of astronomy and space exploration. After a brief stint doing different work, he returned to school to obtain an M.S. degree in Earth Sciences. He then spent 25 years as an environmental consultant, working on a diverse range of projects, including, surface and groundwater hydrology, groundwater and vadose zone monitoring and modeling, water chemistry database statistical analysis, acid mine drainage prediction and remediation. He also completed projects in exploration for oil, gas and precious and industrial minerals. After 25 years, he made the decision to return to school and to obtain a teaching degree. He was employed by the local school district for 17 years, teaching 2nd and 3rd grade students. Since his retirement from teaching, he has had the great fortune to be working part-time as a STEAM coordinator for his local library. Both the library and the program funders have been generous in allowing him to take this position in a number of different directions. This has allowed him to be able to share his love of science and his love of teaching with an new and diverse audience.
