Abigail Teron
Since she was a little girl, Abigail Chrystine Teron has been curious about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), providing science and math tutoring to neighbors. In 2016, Abigail completed a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Ana G Mendez University of Puerto Rico. Then in 2021, she completed her master’s degree in Electric Engineering with Major in Signal Processing from Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico. She is currently a PhD student in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science with major in Cybersecurity and a recipient of the NSF-SFS scholarship. Abigail's scientific investigation is focused on satellites to find ways to protect them from cyber-attacks. Passion is one of the characteristics that makes her stand out. She gives her best effort and puts her heart in everything she does. Abigail works as an active volunteer for the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineer (IEEE) since her bachelor's degree leading different positions in Puerto Rico and Caribbean Section: Vice-Chair, Membership Development Chair and current Puerto Rico and Caribbean Section Chair. As a Membership Development Chair, she has created a team to help members with their applications to become Senior Members, increasing that membership to more than 50% within the section. She has hosted many events within IEEE at section and regional level and have provided in-service presentations. For the past years, Abigail has worked in the aerospace industry where she has performed as Test Software Development, Test Hardware Development, Project Engineer and Test Engineer. Her versatility placed her to be the Process Focal of the Electronic Solution Department. Her role is to find ways to accelerate and improve the effectiveness in different processes: Software Development, Hardware Development, Product Qualification Test, Product Development Test and Test Project and Management. She has grown in the aerospace industry and found an inexplicable and extreme passion.
