John (Jack) Murphy is a Senior Data Engineer at a software company who interprets and solves big data problems such as processing, storage, and computation. His team creates, maintains, and analyzes datasets to better understand product and customer usage. Jack enjoys debugging challenging problems involving multiple data sources to identify critical metrics for the company. After supporting the company's data platform for a few years, he wants to pivot to a new challenge: space. Growing up in Sonoma, he always looked up to the stars and desired to solve complex problems in and beyond our atmosphere. Jack holds a Computer Science Engineering degree from the University of Michigan but is considering a master's degree in Aerospace Engineering to enhance his skillset and dreams of working on robotics to aid the continued exploration of space. Jack is also interested in sustainability and wants to investigate the intersection of sustainability and space exploration. Advancing technology while preserving the environment is a difficult challenge, but it is his priority. When Jack is not working or studying, he enjoys puzzles, puns, reading, movies, and scuba diving.
