Sophia (Phia) Morton is very excited to be a part of the community of Solar System Ambassadors since public education and space exploration are both passions of hers. She graduated Oregon State University with a degree in applied physics with a minor in nuclear engineering. She is currently pursuing a PhD in physics at Stanford University, studying particle accelerators. She discovered her love for public outreach while working at the Oregon Observatory for the past three years and volunteering at Pine Mountain Observatory. Her work there includes operating telescopes for solar and nighttime programs and giving presentations. Her goal is to allow other people to experience the wonderful world of astronomy and space exploration.
