Fr. Michael Cunningham
Fr. Michael Cunningham is a Redemptorist priest and pastor of Philadelphia's St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church. Before being ordained a priest in 2019, he practiced pharmacy for sixteen years as a licensed pharmacist and would later acquire a master’s degree (M.Div.) from Boston College. He traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Bolivia, and the Caribbean; he currently resides in Philadelphia at St. Peter the Apostle Church. While in Brooklyn, he established the OLPH Observatory and acquired the observatory code (W69) from the Minor Planet Center (MPC) to track and measure the position of asteroids and comets. The observatory allowed Fr. Michael and his community to glimpse the cosmos and the one who created it. From this same posture of wonder, he and his community in Philadelphia now look up into the night sky, hoping to understand better what they observe and share that knowledge with others.
