Solar System Ambassadors
James Boone
James Boone, enthusiast of all things space, was born and raised in North Dakota. He loves the environment and opportunities his home state has to offer and is proud to represent NASA’s Solar System Ambassador program for North Dakota. James got his first telescope when he was about 4, and remembers excitedly looking for the planets and the moon, and the excitement of seeing the moon for the first time. That excitement was renewed when James was 22 and studying at the University of North Dakota when he purchased his first amateur telescope, a 10” dobsonian. He then purchased another telescope and took up amateur astrophotography. James loves reading about all of the latest news on space: rocketry, telescope discoveries, technology development, and more. He excitedly shared everything he learns first with his wife, then his two daughters, followed by the rest of his family and friends.
