Jennifer Shin
Jennifer Shin is Clinical Associate Professor and Director of the Graduate Data Initiative at Sy Syms School of Business at Yeshiva University. She is also a world-renowned Data Scientist, Entrepreneur, and Thought Leader and seasoned data scientist, product manager, and management consultant. She has held senior management positions at Fortune 50 companies as both an individual contributor and team leader/manager. As the inaugural Product Director, she transformed a concept into a new proprietary machine-learning AI technology platform, which became a monetized commercial success in the first year and received significant coverage by the press and media outlets. Ms. Shin’s expertise in data science, technology and business expertise has been tapped across numerous industries and domains ranging from planetary sciences to epidemiology. She currently serves on the Board of Directors, advisory boards, committees and review panels for several startups, nonprofit organizations, government, and universities. Her research activities include reviewing predictive models for the United Nations and is a member of the UN Global Network of Chief Data Officers & Statisticians. She has also served on several NASA committees and panels, including as a subject matter expert and member of the Mining and Automation subcommittee on the Planetary Data Ecosystem (PDE) Independent Review Board (IRB). Prior to joining the faculty at Yeshiva University, she taught graduate courses in business, analytics, statistics, and data visualization at Columbia University, New York University, University of California, Berkeley, and City University of New York. Ms. Shin received both her undergraduate degree in Economics, Mathematics & Creative Writing and her graduate degree in Statistics, both from Columbia University
