Elysia Segal is a performer, writer, and STEAM educator. She currently works as the Producer of Public Programming at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City where she brings the history of the ship to life through theatrical presentations, demonstrations, planetarium shows, and live virtual programming. She has previously created immersive work at a number of cultural institutions across the country and has a passion for highlighting the stories of underrepresented women in history and science. Elysia holds an MA in Museum Studies from CUNY SPS and a BFA in Drama from NYU. She currently serves as the Vice President of the International Museum Theatre Alliance and is certified through the National Association for Interpretation. Her work has been featured as part of the UN's International Day of Women and Girls in Science, as well as on television across the globe. Fun fact: main-belt asteroid 17795 Elysiasegal [1998 FJ61] was named in her honor!
