Michael Long has had a strong interest in observing the night sky and following the many launches of NASA (and now private) spacecraft from a very early age. In 7th grade he brought a small transistor radio to class where the teacher allowed the whole class to listen to one of the Mercury 7 launches and recovery. Later, he was able to watch from a distance several Shuttle launches while visiting in Florida, paying attention to the timing and knowing where to look. He has now been able to witness several SpaceX launches also while visiting in Florida. He has an undergraduate degree in Mathematics with 20+ hours in Earth Science and Masters Degree in Business. Michael is a US Air Force veteran.
