Erika is an amateur astronomer who loves to learn about the sky. Her love of astronomy began at an intro to astronomy course she took in college a few years ago. Learning about gravitational waves, and debating what shape the universe is, opened a love inside of her about what is beyond our Earth. After becoming involved with the Oregon Observatory at Sunriver, Erika realized that she loved sharing her passion for astronomy with the public. Whether it's sharing the Greek myth behind a constellation, or showing the Andromeda Galaxy to guests, Erika knew that she wanted astronomy to be a part of her life. Using her own telescopes, Erika loves viewing the night sky and taking notes on the objects she observes. From viewing the full Moon to a deep sky galaxy, Erika tries to learn as much as she can about what she sees in the sky.
