Contact John

Since early childhood, John Wolfram has been a space enthusiast and amateur astronomer. As a child, he found himself devouring coverage of the Apollo and Voyager missions. His Mom seized on that enthusiasm, getting John his first new and then a second used telescope. They are still his treasures. With those scopes, the heavens came alive for John, as did a lifelong passion for space. At the University of Notre Dame, John earned a Bachelor of Science and, from Drexel University, a Master of Science, both in electrical engineering. Thereafter, he began his 30+ year career in the electric utility industry, working first in the control center of the nation’s largest electric transmission grid operator and then for three successive electric utilities. In 2012, John founded a nationwide electric utility consulting firm, where he, as its principal, assists utilities in setting their customer rates and testifies as an expert witness before regulatory commissions. John loves spending time with his wife Molly and their four children. He is a member of the Louisville Astronomical Society and several space-related societies. He participates in many online astronomy and space-interest groups and has been published in magazines. He greatly enjoys sharing the heavens with others, both youth and adults. He teaches space classes at his children’s schools, inspiring a new generation of space enthusiasts to aim high and chase their dreams. And he regularly shares his voracious readings and fervor for NASA’s past, present and future missions--along with astronomy news and astrophotography.
