Col. Margaret W. Schmidt, USAFR, Ret. is a flight nurse and nurse anethetist. Her NASA interest stems from her aviation enthusiasm. She has been flying as a private pilot around the DC area since 1977. She views learning about space is an extension of her love for aviation. Currently, Margaret Schmidt works as a Nurse Anesthetist for the National Institute of Health Clinical Center.
