Paul Brown
Paul Brown received a BA in Biology from the University of La Verne in 1987 and a Doctorate in Chiropractic in 1991 from Palmer College. He began his career in private practice caring for patients. His love and passion of science led him speaking engagements and volunteering in at the nature center at the Cleveland Metro Parks, leading nature walks and activities. Paul changed career paths and entered the teaching field where he was employed by the Oakley Union Elementary School District as an eighth grade Earth and Space Science teacher. With teaching being his first love of science, he also serves as Science Department Chairperson for the past 19 years. Paul's passion and enthusiasm for science continued to grow as he became exposed to new ideas during the course of his careers. His clinical and biologic knowledge carries over to all branches of science helping him inspire students. He is inspired by space and astronomy, which has led him to attend Space Academy for Teachers, apply to be an astronaut, invited to NASA Socials to see space shuttle launches, an inside tour of NASA Ames Research Center, and to experience the Mars Curiosity landing at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, performed experiments on a weightless zero-g flight, and to become certified to check out Moon rocks from the NASA Lunar-Meteorite Sample Program for his students. To his students, Paul is known as The Space Man -- a title he proudly wears.
