Chris Boehringer is a Buffalo native. He grew up with the Space Shuttle program and has been fascinated with taking humans into space ever since. He has degrees from Buffalo State College and UB in Elementary Education and Psychology. He has been a teacher for 17 years and a special education teacher in Buffalo Public Schools for the past 9 years. He has provided students with extra science learning opportunities, including the Sally Ride EarthKAM project and organizing and facilitating school wide science fairs at his school. He also fosters this learning at home with his two daughters, whose names have been sent to Mars multiple times. When he is not playing soccer, practicing karate, or shredding on his guitar, he is outside looking through his telescope at the limitless wonder of space.
