Geoff Rizzie was born, raised, and currently resides in Orange County, California. He's had a fascination with space ever since he was a kid. He loved learning about astronomy and space exploration, and dreamed of exploring the universe for himself. Even as an adult, he still has that sense of wonder and awe every time he finds himself looking up at the night sky. No matter how many times he looks up and sees the planets, he still can’t help feeling amazed that he's not only looking at another world, but that things we humans have built have visited or are currently visiting those worlds!

Geoff attended Orange Coast College where he received an A.A. degree in General Studies before transferring to California State University, Fullerton to pursue a B.A. degree in History with a minor in Geology. After graduating from CSUF, he continued his education, earning teaching credentials in both Geoscience and History/Social Science, as well as a M.Ed. degree in Cross-Cultural Teaching. He has worked as a public school teacher for the last 19 years, teaching both Earth Science and Social Studies. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his lovely wife, as well as camping, hiking, surfing...and, of course, gazing at the night sky!
