Solar System Ambassadors
Daryl Cooke
Daryl grew up with a love of space, wanting to be an astronaut at the age of 9. After following her dreams and completing dual degrees in Astronomy and Physics from Smith College, she began her career at NASA as a telescope operator. As her love of space and science grew, she learned more about the space industry, working on missions such as the International Ultraviolet Explorer and the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission. As Daryl's children grew and started school, Daryl became involved in their education, acting as guest lecturer for solar system studies and Hands on Science instructor, hoping to shape young minds and share her love of learning. Daryl continues to share her love of space and the solar system with those around her, whether it be impromptu celestial lessons while sailing at night or local neighborhood telescope parties.
