Amanda is a graduate of Dixie Heights High School, in Edgewood, Kentucky. She attended East Tennessee State University and received a Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene, and served her community in a public health capacity for over ten years. She started astronomy as a hobby, and couldn't stop devouring information about space. After working with Girl Scouts, she realized there was a real need for STEM education for the general public, and returned to school, where she is currently studying Planetary Science and Astronomy at the University of North Dakota.
