At a young age Teresa Simpson was exposed to libraries, museums and the UC Berkeley campus. People were willing to point her in the right direction if she had any science questions. The staff at Berkeley were especially helpful in that regard. She liked building things by using various methods and materials. This gave her a lot of confidence. She knew in Elementary School that she would end up in a job in which Science was applied; Technology. She enlisted in the Air Force Reserves while in High School and got trained in Avionics. After completion of Technical School, she got a job as an Electronics Technician. By the next year she was working as a Mission Controller at NASA Ames Research Center on Pioneer Project. Space Exploration has been in her blood ever since then.
