Robert (Bob) Savoy
When Bob Savoy was 12 years old, he took part in a summer reading program at his local library. A librarian suggested a science fiction story, he read it, and was hooked. He’s been reading about space science ever since, including astronomy, astrophysics, and cosmology, with occasional science fiction. Currently his interest is in astronomy public outreach and education. Bob is a member of the local astronomy club, the Howard Astronomical League (HAL) and currently leads a basic astronomy discussion group within the group. He participates in Project ASTRO, which matches astronomers with teachers to assist teaching astronomy in schools. Bob is an astronomy presenter at school STEM Fairs, active at HAL star parties, and a volunteers at the Robinson Nature Center, where he creates and presents planetarium shows. He loves talking with people of all ages about astronomy , astrophysics, and cosmology.
