Solar System Ambassadors
Michelle Riordan
A camera and a telescope led me toward a lifelong career in STEM.
I'm a lifelong professional photographer and STEM educator.
I work with kids from elementary to high school. Knowing that there is more to STEM than robotics, I sought out NASA resources to bring to southern New Jersey as a Solar System Ambassador and a NASA Astro Camp Partner. I also mentor a middle school stargazer group. I am a member of the South Jersey Astronomy Club, South Jersey STEM Ecosystem & New Jersey STEM Pathways. I am an AEM with Civil Air Patrol & a member of the NJ Aviation Education Council.
New projects include creating a preschool STEAM program, library astronomy nights and being accepted onto 2024 NASA/IPAC Teacher Archive Research Project (NITARP) to bring Astronomical research to area students. In 2025, I joined the New Jersey Space Grant Consortium as Outreach & Workforce Coordinator.
Never stop reaching for the stars!!!
