Jenny McCall
Jenny McCall has been teaching science for more than thirteen years. Her classroom is focused on creating project-based learning activities and real-world problem solving situations that differentiate by interest, skill, and learning style. Her classroom philosophy can be summed up by a quote that a student coined while testing his Rube Goldberg project, "failure is just another opportunity". She also believes in creating rigor in the classroom that demands students put forth their best effort and develop efficacy skills. As a 2020 Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium Embedded Teacher, McCall's students researched and designed experiments centered around fluid dynamics in microgravity with research based connections to the design of the Modal Propellant Gauging system of the Lunar Orbiting Platform. Attending the Honeywell Educators at Space Academy in 2018 was a career highlight. McCall enjoys collaborating with other teachers who are passionate about space education as a Space Foundation Teacher Liaison (Flight 17-20) and as a PLTW Master Teacher for Flight and Space. Her favorite things to do involve being outside with her husband and four children.
