Solar System Ambassadors
Katherine Snell
As a little girl, Katherine Snell dreamt of touching the stars. She grew up photographing the moon and researching space, space exploration, and what makes the Aurora Borealis exist. Now, as an adult, she works in finance and loves it to the moon and back, but her true passion is helping others discover the scientist within them. When she is not working, Katherine enjoys reading every single textbook an astronaut would (there are many of them) in order to become an astronaut, celebrating the Moon Landing, looking forward to the Artemis missions, and waving to the astronauts and cosmonauts serving aboard the International Space Station when it passes overhead her home in Washington. As a Solar System Ambassador, Katherine hopes to reach individuals from all walks of life and educate them about their relationship with the Universe and what they can do in the future for space exploration. As she likes to say, not everyone enjoys science, but everyone is a scientist, whether they know about it or not. From children to elders, Katherine believes there is always a chance to learn about the next steps in space exploration. She is looking forward to serving her community and discovering the different ways people learn and interact with science in their daily lives.
